For over 40 years, the Tartanside stud force has been a consistent source of quality. With the goal of achieving dogs that come closer and closer to the “ideal,” each generation of Tartanside studs has been created in an endeavor to reach this goal. Using the official Collie standard as a roadmap, the journey towards improvement continues with each new generation of Tartanside stud dogs adding a new dimension towards the quest for perfection. Each dog offered at stud must meet multiple criteria, as they must go beyond the aesthetic beauty described in the Collie standard, and be both mentally and physically sound as well.
Over 250 champions have been produced from Tartanside sires and dams, and at the present time (2004), the top Performance sires are Tartanside owned and bred.
Ch. Tartanside Th’ Critics Choice, R.O.M., was the top producing sire of the 20th Century, while several of his offspring have joined the ranks of R.O.M. producers as well.
